Celebrate India’s Gift of Yoga and Meditation

International Yoga Day

June 21 is International Yoga Day, honoring the invaluable gift of India’s ancient traditions. We are so lucky to have a rich variety of yoga traditions from which to choose. From those, yoga and meditation provide us the path to develop in a complete and holistic way as human beings. Yoga means “union,” and this reflects our most human yearning to be fully connected with ourselves and our world.

Joining Yoga and Meditation

Sometimes we might find the vast variety of yoga teachings to be a little confusing. Fortunately for us there is a great way to unify all those complex asanas and instructions. So meditation practice is the key. The practice of peace through simplicity sums up the meditation we teach at our retreats. We join the complexity of yoga with the simplicity of meditation. The result is a lively and dynamic exploration of body and mind which gets rid of confusion.

Everybody Desires Union

What is this union? It is joining body and mind, yoga and meditation, yin and yang, simplicity and celebration, movement and stillness, inner purity and outer activity, complexity and simplicity. We are learning to flow with impermanence, and relax at the edge of our comfort zone. We keep moving and by doing so we do not get stuck anywhere. Then we remain in stillness and enjoy the luminous and blissful movement of our own mind. Yoga and meditation together are amazing.
